HTC factory reset to enable 3G to work

I picked up a second hand unlocked HTC mobile phone.  I put in my sim card and everything worked except I could not connect to the internet via 3G.  I tried resetting the connection everything I could think of until I got fed up and reset the phone to it factory settings.  This meant that all the apps and previous setting were delelted and the phone was set back to how it was when it left the factory. Low and behold my 3G came up after I set up a connection.

During my search to fix the no connection I found this in a comment somewhere. These are the settings for the internet connection.

Note: Just so you know Factory reset will delete every setting and app for the phone.  It will not change the unlocked status of the phone.  Mine was unlocked and remained unlocked after the reset.
